History and origins
The modern monastery was inaugurated in 2005. Tourism materials describe it as occupying an area with foundations of the ancient Thiên Ân temple; the earlier remains should be distinguished from the monastery built in the 21st century.
Architecture & surroundings
The layout comprises worship areas, visitor reception and study and practice spaces. Roof forms, the three-entrance gate and buildings are coordinated with the wooded hillside. The inner monastery contains monastic halls, meditation halls and dedicated practice areas; not all are freely accessible to visitors.
Cultural value
The monastery helps introduce the Trúc Lâm Yên Tử tradition and Vietnamese Zen practice. Beyond appreciating its architecture, a visit is valuable for attentive listening, learning and respect for the practice schedule.
Events & festivals
Retreats, observances and visitor reception times are arranged by the monastery for each period. Please contact it before planning a stay or joining a programme; the festival calendar of Tây Thiên Temple is not automatically the monastery’s activity schedule.
