- A shrine-and-temple complex connected with Kẻ Gám village
- Local Buddhist activity in the Trúc Lâm tradition
History and origins
The Nghệ An tourism portal explicitly states that historical sources do not fully establish when the temple was formed. After upheavals damaged the buildings, residents gradually restored the worship space. Local records note that Chí Linh Temple received provincial monument designation in 2007. The temple's history should be distinguished from that of the neighbouring shrine.
Architecture & surroundings
A courtyard opens before the tiled-roof Buddha hall, with an Avalokiteśvara statue and ornamental plants. Restored structures, seasonal landscape features and the neighbouring shrine form a religious complex. Statues and rituals honouring deities who served the people belong to the shrine section and should not be treated as part of the Buddha hall.
Cultural value
The temple is connected with community life in Kẻ Gám village. The story linking the village name to the gắm plant that relieved hunger is local folklore; study, practice and festivals continue this cultural memory.
Events & festivals
The Gám shrine-and-temple festival in 2026 took place from 31/3 to 2/4, with processions, incense offerings and cultural activities. These are past dates; please check announcements for subsequent editions.
