History and origins
The temple was inaugurated on 15/12/2014 to meet the needs of residents and pilgrims for Buddhist worship and religious activities. It is a modern Buddhist building; its traditional architectural appearance does not mean the temple itself is ancient.
Architecture & surroundings
The buildings use upturned roof forms, brick, tiles and timber structures familiar in Vietnamese temples. The complex includes a Tam Bảo hall, ancestral hall, statue garden and a memorial area for Nùng Trí Cao. Set against the mountain, its layout opens views across the valley and harmonises architecture with nature.
Cultural value
Beyond its role in study, practice and pilgrimage, the temple brings together Buddhist culture and local historical memory. The memorial to a historical figure within the complex should be understood in the cultural context of Cao Bằng and distinguished from the Buddha worship halls.
Events & festivals
Visitors may come to pay homage to the Buddha and ask the temple about current practice sessions and observances. If no specific announcement has been made for an upcoming event, please contact the temple in advance, especially during Bản Giốc’s peak tourist season.
