  • The names Linh Long and Bách Lẫm
  • A heritage site beside the Red River
  • A documentary stele dated 1908
  • Community celebrations of the Buddha's birthday

History and origins

Research published by Báo Yên Bái records that the temple began as a structure of thatch, bamboo and wood, endured war and was repaired in 1970 and 1980. According to the Chốn Thiêng introductory dossier, restoration on the old foundations was authorised in 1994, and the Bách Lẫm temple-and-shrine complex received provincial designation in 2012.

Architecture & surroundings

Local materials describe the architecture after repairs as showing Nguyễn-period influence, with stacked-beam timber framing. The Buddhist temple's interior is dedicated to the Buddha; the nearby shrine dedicated to Đông Cuông has its own system of worship. Stone steles and the Red River setting contribute to the site's identity.

Cultural value

The Thần Phật bi hậu ký stele of 1908 preserves evidence of donations and the former Bách Lẫm landscape. Religious activity at the temple helps maintain Buddhist worship and bonds among Red River communities.

Events & festivals

Báo Lào Cai reported a Buddha's birthday celebration at the temple on 29/5/2026, including the reading of a message and the ritual bathing of the Buddha. This was the 2026 schedule; please follow the temple's announcements for dates in subsequent years.
