History and origins

Hán-Nôm research sources record Lý-dynasty origins and historical layers expressed in paired inscriptions. Buddhist materials also mention Zen master Như Trừng Lân Giác’s role in later transmission. The temple was listed as a national heritage site in 1988. The launch ceremony for the latest restoration took place on 12-10-2025.

Architecture & surroundings

Documentary photographs show the gate, main hall, carved timber roof frames and stone stupas in the courtyard. Restoration launched in 2025 includes the Three Jewels hall, corridors, patriarch hall and supporting structures, with an intention to use timber, stone, tiles and bricks in a traditional style.

Cultural value

Plaques, paired inscriptions and statues provide evidence of monastic life in Kinh Bắc. Prayers for well-being and memorial dedication rites express the Buddhist community’s faith, filial respect and wishes for peace.

Events & festivals

Available materials have not confirmed a separate festival schedule for the temple. Please follow announcements or ask the temple before attending a ceremony, so that your visit can be arranged smoothly.
