Architecture & surroundings

The grounds contain worship halls and buildings serving monks and the community. Roof forms, colours and decoration express southern Khmer artistic traditions.

The complex includes a main hall, monastic and community buildings, layered roofs and Khmer ornament. Panoramic views, hall exteriors and cultural performances reveal both the architecture and the temple’s cultural life.

Cultural value

The temple teaches Khmer literacy and Buddhist doctrine, while its performing group preserves ngũ âm ensemble music, dance and traditional arts. Its importance extends beyond architectural sightseeing.

The temple’s performing group helps sustain ngũ âm music and Khmer dances. It is also an environment for literacy and religious education; respect lessons and ask before photographing people studying or practising.
