  • Education and preservation of community writing and culture.

History and origins

Cà Mau’s tourism portal records the temple’s construction in 1964. It developed into a centre of Theravāda Buddhist and Khmer cultural life within the city. Changes to administrative-unit names do not alter its location or traditions.

Architecture & surroundings

A three-entrance gateway, main hall, sala and supporting buildings occupy leafy grounds. Tiered roofs, Nāga figures and Khmer decoration create a recognisable appearance; murals introduce Buddhist narratives and cultural traditions.

Cultural value

The temple serves both worship and the teaching of Khmer writing, scriptures and community knowledge. Respecting people who are learning, practising and living there matters as much as appreciating its architecture.

Events & festivals

Chôl Chnăm Thmây, Sene Đolta and Ok Om Bok are important occasions for the Khmer community. Please ask the temple for specific dates before coming, since religious rites and cultural activities may be arranged differently each year.
