About
Hương Tích Pagoda in Hà Tĩnh lies on Hồng Lĩnh Mountain, amid layered mountain and forest scenery. This is Hà Tĩnh’s Hương Pagoda and should be distinguished from the Hương Pagoda complex in Hà Nội. History and origins
Hương Tích is associated with the legend of Princess Diệu Thiện’s spiritual practice. This story is presented as a cultural tradition, not as a verified record of events. The temple has undergone many restorations to continue serving religious life.
The buildings and service routes seen today developed in different periods and should not all be assigned the founding date of the ancient temple.
Architecture & surroundings
Places of worship follow the mountainside and are connected by a pilgrimage route. The layout offers pauses between woodland and shrines, so a visit involves the terrain and walking as well as the temple buildings themselves.
Cultural value
Hương Tích is a symbol of Hà Tĩnh’s spiritual culture, associated with spring outings and the aspiration to do good. Keeping mountain paths clean and limiting noise and waste-generating offerings are practical ways to preserve the site’s value.
Events & festivals
The 2026 festival opening took place on 22/2/2026, the 6th day of the first lunar month. This is a past event, not a date that applies every year. Please follow announcements for the next festival season to confirm ceremony times and visitor arrangements.
