About Phật Giáo VNS

A place to discover Buddhist books, learn about Vietnamese temples and support daily study and practice.

WITH RESPECTFUL GRATITUDE

Lay Buddhist Huyền Thanh

With deep reverence and gratitude, the Buddhist Library honours the contributions of Lay Buddhist Huyền Thanh in translating the Buddhist scriptures and books preserved and presented in the library.

The lay translator’s dedication to translating and preserving scriptures has helped Vietnamese readers encounter the teachings, study Buddhist texts and practise. We deeply appreciate the sustained effort behind every translation and every page of scripture.

The library preserves translators' names and source information in the documents, with respectful gratitude to authors, translators, editors, collectors and everyone who has helped transmit this collection of Buddhist books.

May I express this gratitude by cherishing scriptures, reading thoughtfully and practising wholesome actions in daily life.

A space for Buddhist learning and practice

Phật Giáo VNS connects access to Buddhist books with tools that support daily study and practice. You can begin with content suited to your needs:

  • Library of 1,729 PDF files: search by title, reference number, translator or filename; read online and download.
  • Find temples: explore 147 profiles, documentary photographs, history, architecture and visitor information.
  • Practice space: read scriptures, listen to audio, recite the Buddha's name, use bells and wooden percussion, count prayer beads, meditate and track your practice schedule.
  • The Buddhist calendar, reference material on Buddhas and bodhisattvas, and prayer rooms support learning, practice and connection.
  • An account saves and synchronises data for personal features. Data-management options are explained in privacy policy.

Reference content is presented with respect for Buddhist traditions. When studying rituals or seeking guidance in practice, readers should consult monastics and the teacher they rely on.

How materials are preserved and cross-checked

The library distinguishes document titles, reference numbers and individual volumes, retaining authors, translators and source links for comparison. Original PDFs are kept separate from website descriptions.

Temple profiles cite sources for their descriptions and documentary photographs. Ceremonies, opening hours and visiting conditions can change; please contact the temple for updates before travelling.

Website-written notes and guidance are distinguished from scripture. To report an inaccuracy or suggest source material, please send the page link and supporting evidence through Contact page so the comparison is clear.

The library's purpose

Buddhist Library at phatgiaovns.com is an online library for Buddhist learning, research and practice. Readers can find books, read online and download PDFs to their devices without creating an account.

Materials are collected from publicly available Buddhist sources. The library keeps separate volumes, books and editions for comparison. Source filenames appear beneath book titles to help readers identify the edition they need.

The notes on authors, translators, provenance and permitted use in each document remain applicable. When quoting or sharing, retain source information and respect the work of compilers and translators.

Finding, reading and using books

  1. Search: enter a book title, reference number or PDF filename, using Vietnamese with or without accents. Choose All Books to search the entire library.
  2. Choose the correct edition: compare the filename and source information on the book card. For example, search for no 1056 to view editions with the same reference number.
  3. Read and download: open a book to read online; select Download PDF in the reader to save the original file to your device.
  4. Copy text: select the passage you need, then press Ctrl+C (Windows) or ⌘C (Mac). On a phone, touch and hold, then drag the selection. The button Copy page extract the text from the page you are reading.

Copying depends on the PDF: scanned image-only pages require text recognition, and some older fonts may produce incomplete text or incorrect accents. Compare copied text with the original page before using it.

Caring for the library together

If a book will not open, a volume is missing, a title or translator detail is incorrect, or you have a request about document usage rights, please send the details through Contact page. Every suggestion supported by a source helps us preserve and present Buddhist texts more carefully.

Thank you sincerely for accompanying and supporting us.
